Virtual Blender Camera v1.1

Have you ever wanted to take photographs inside blender? Well now you can! With Virtual Blender Camera v1.1!

New and improved, this virtual camera uses an actual collection of lenses, some layered filters and a tiny bit of compositing to simulate taking a photograph on an old film camera. Because the lens and aperture is simulated in a physically accurate way, the resulting distortion and bokeh effects look unlike anything you would normally get just using built in compositing techniques.

Check out some examples of photos “taken” on the virtual camera in this gallery:

A quick explanation of the improvements and how to use it:

“An incredibly fun tool, it feels like shooting with cheap, fixed lens camera, and gives all the imperfections that come with that. For the price of 5$, I can’t give this less than 5 stars. What this project isn’t, is a modern, interchangeable lens camera. The lens is super soft in the center, and the aperture feels like an f/0.95 to f/2, and your stuck with 50mm FF. I would buy this all over again if he adds an Aspherical lens! because that would actually be a first in CGI history to simulate that kind of lens, and the artifacts that come with it. [My favorite focal length is 35mm btw 😉 ].”
